Would you like to join our core team?

As readers will have seen from our AGM notes, we’ve recently adopted a less formal structure, so that membership now requires no subscription (though donations are always welcome), simply an active interest in heritage matters across the borough and a readiness to keep in touch with the Society’s activities.

We have a small core team which undertakes a great deal of work in fulfilling our main aim – to provide a means of information exchange and to call attention to crucial current issues across Hastings & St Leonards. Sometimes we do this through public meetings at which a topic of concern is presented and discussed. There is usually no shortage of such concerns.

We are looking for the equivalent of a membership secretary. This isn’t an onerous role, especially as no subscriptions (and the usual reminders) are involved. It simply requires someone who will keep our list of interested people or groups up-to-date and liaise with other members of the team in responding to requests and queries. This will help us to make decisions about priorities and publicity. We are trying to ensure that our website is as comprehensive and up-to-date as possible.
